[AI] Knowledge is Now Worth Zero
AI just made access to knowledge worthless.
Knowledge is now worth zero.
AI didn’t make knowledge go to zero. It made access to knowledge worthless.
The scarcity shifted. From “who knows” to “who can think.”
Doctors and lawyers aren’t paid for memorizing facts—they’re paid for judgment under uncertainty. For knowing which fact applies when. For deciding when the rules don’t fit.
Artificial Intelligence will continue developing and will cultivate crazy amounts of knowledge.
However…
However, Artificial Intelligence has zero wisdom.
Knowledge goes to zero. Now, wisdom is valuable.
Wisdom
What is wisdom? Wisdom is knowledge in context. Wisdom is knowledge and experience.
Wisdom is the ability to apply knowledge, experience, and insight to make sound, ethical, and practical judgments.
Can AI do this? Nope. Not yet, anyway.
Wisdom reside in humans. So you have this over AI. Maybe.
Me: But… Let me ask you, fresh college graduate or early in your career: Do you have wisdom?
You: Sure!
Me: Not so fast.
“Wisdom cannot be imparted. Wisdom that a wise man attempts to impart always sounds like foolishness to someone else ... Knowledge can be communicated, but not wisdom. One can find it, live it, do wonders through it, but one cannot communicate and teach it.”
― Hermann Hesse
You: So, how can I get wisdom?
You: Is there a course I can take or something?
Me: No.
Me: Real wisdom comes from actions, experiences, mistakes, learning, growth, reflection, time, interaction, communication, more actions, more mistakes, more time.
Me: However, you can access wisdom.
You: How?
Me: Hire me :-)
“Any fool can know. The point is to understand.”
― Albert Einstein
“The fool doth think he is wise, but the wise man knows himself to be a fool.”
― William Shakespeare, As You Like It
“The saddest aspect of life right now is that science gathers knowledge faster than society gathers wisdom.”
― Isaac Asimov
There is real truth in Asimov’s quote.
“The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing.”
― Socrates
You: No problem, I will use AI…
If you are 18 or 22 or 25 and you cannot get past following simple instructions, read and follow a map (without being told exactly how far to walk or drive) or have a basic understanding of how the world works (even though you have a college degree) and spend countless hours on on social media and gaming then how can you cultivate wisdom? You live in a bubble. You have the world view of a goldfish. (Well, not YOU, you are an intelligent ONE readers) [YOU = other people]
Your answer: I will use AI.
The world says: Yeah, us, too.
Me: So who needs you?
The world: But, listen, I do need someone to move furniture, cook ramen, do the gardening, install washing machines…
You: But I am a college graduate!
The world: Yeah, but that’s all we need now.
You: Can I work from home on my phone?
The world: Nope.
You: I’m feeling stressed.
The world: The military is hiring.
You: That’s not helping.
: : Need help with your personal growth? : :
Need help with your personal growth and a personal strategic plan in an AI world? Ask me. I have worked with a handful of former students as a mentor and coach to identify issues and challenges, educate, set goals and orient for success. Clarity, focus and direction: I will help you to discover it within you.
"Between stimulus and response, there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom."
—Viktor Frankl
